Toronto, Ont. (Sept. 24, 2011) - The Annak ti Abra Filipino-Canadian Association has inducted its first ever set of officers last night, September 24, 2011 at 8:00PM. The induction of officers was held at Our Lady of Assumption Hall in Toronto, Ontario. The founding officers were sworn to office by Philippine Consol General to Canada, the Honorable Pedro O. Chan.

The Induction program commenced with the Philippine National Anthem performed by the POW Band followed by the Canadian National Anthem by Nicole Enrile.

The Association's Spiritual Adviser, Rev. Fr. Roselle Azares gave a very solemn invocation followed by an opening remarks by the founder, Alfonso Terrenal.

The guest speaker, Honorable Console General Pedro Chan, introduced by Conrado Belisario, gave a very meaningful message regarding Filipinos living abroad and how important our votes are to the Philippine Government. He then encouraged Canadian Citizens to go for dual citizenship as we are needed by our Philippine Govenment.

The newly inducted Association President, Hedley Berona also gave a speech as well as the founder's better-half, Buenavic Bersalona who is also a part of the founding team as well as the treasurer of the association.

After the officers were sworn to office, the association theme song, "ABANTE, ANNAK TI ABRA", composed by Conrado Belisario, was sung by the group.

Various groups and singers performed during the course of the event, these includes a Tinguian Dance headed by Regina Dapapa (ATA Secretary), Tahitian Dance by Monica Agaton, songs performed by various singers - Harriette Leigh Berona, Renalyn Uringan and an original composition by Hubert Bachiller (co-founder of ATA).

The rest of the evening was covered with raffle draws and dancing the night away.
