These fire trucks will be turned over to municipalities of Sallapadan, San Quintin, Villaviciosa, Licuan-Baay and La Paz, said Provincial Fire Marshall Rogelio Nigos. But he clarified that provision of fire station by the local government unit is a prerequisite for the turn over to the fire trucks.“Or they could provide temporary quarters for our BFP personnel and canopy to shelter the fire truck,” he said.
Nigos admitted that their problem as of now is lack of BFP personnel to man fire stations in the different municipalities. Several of their personnel from the provincial station have been deployed to different fire stations and they need more for augmentation team.
Fire incident doesn’t happen every day, Nigos said, but more personnel are needed to conduct fire safety and preventive measures forum, awareness forum-symposium among other things.
